Dog days of summer

So due to the fact that this summer has been way more busy then I had anticipated it being also that crazy things have come up on a regular basis, I haven't been blogging as often as I normally would have, so this is sort of a catch up on the last little while.

The Fourth of July was awesome! My family had a small BBQ then we went fireworks shopping with my uncle. For those of you who don't know my father and my uncle, when they get together two things happen. 1) They go crazy. This in and of itself should be enough to give you a good idea of how the firework shopping went, but then comes 2) They always end up spending way more money then they should. Translation: we came home with a car that had been converted into an arsenal. We spent the rest of the day lounging at a local park listening to a band and some singing group doing oldies music. This wouldn't be so bad if one of the ladies in the group was flat the whole time. I tried to sleep through that part. The fireworks weren't too bad either! I was pretty impressed actually. For what I had anticipated it was great!

That weekend we had Tyler, Katie, and Peyton over for a BBQ. It was ridiculously funny watching an 18 month old trying to run on a trampoline! She's the most wonderful, perfect baby and she's getting a new sister this week! Hooray! I'm excited for that too!

The next weekend was pretty fun too! We had my cousins Aaron and Lauren over for a BBQ (I know, we have a lot of BBQ's) and we were the ones to get a little bit crazy! Lauren and I had great fun making ourselves electrically charged on the trampoline and getting crazy hair!

Lastly, I went to a Mary Kay demonstration/sales thing and we had a blast! It was interesting getting makeup tips from someone who hasn't studied it nearly as much as I have and who really just says things to try and get you to buy her products, but oh well! It was fun anyway!

After with the kitten who was playing in my purse during the demonstration!

So really, July has had a lot of fun things going on! I have great family and friends who keep me busy and having an amazing time! Maybe being an adult isn't so bad after all! (Thanks again to Amy for the makeup pics!)

Oh, and as a side note, I'm pathetic. I finished Stephanie Meyer's book The Host in 24 hours. It's 616 pages long and I read it all in one day... So sad... In my defense I was sick so I had nothing better to do then sit in bed and read. Whatever, you just wish you read that fast! :)

Honest to blog!?

So I was sitting here this evening thinking to myself, 'why doesn't anyone have any new blogs up? This is so annoying!' Then I actually realized that I haven't posted anything new in a while so really, it should be me putting up something amusing and introspective for everyone else to read... Actually, I don't really mean that, I still want everyone else to do it so I can read things, it just occurred to me that if I'm sitting here wishing everyone else would do it, I probably should too. I digress... Not too much has happened lately that has been really out of the ordinary. I go to work, go to my Zumba class (which we played hooky from tonight because there is a substitute who we don't like very much), and hang out with my friends. I live a pretty chill life!

Last weekend I got to go to one of my favorite shows of all time though! I went with a group of friends and we saw The Drowsy Chaperone! It was awesome!! Not as good as it was when I saw it in London last year but really now, what can actually compete with seeing a show in London? For me, not much. It was made ever so much better though because I was there with some of my best friends! I wish all of you could have been there, but I understand that circumstances do not allow for that all the time. It was hysterical! We laughed and cried (well, not so much of the crying part) and got great cold stone ice cream afterward! Yum! Good times!

Last night I had the pleasure of seeing WALL-E. It was fantastic!!! I loved the story line which was SO cute! The characters were so loveable! Even WALL-E's 'pet' was cute...ish! The best part was probably that most of the movie was done without dialogue! It just shows how universal emotion is! They didn't have to speak and the whole time you never had to guess what was happening. It was extremely well done! For those of you who have seen it, my favorite part was probably the 'Put On Your Sunday Shoes..." with his hat part! LOVED it! WALL-E was such a loveable character for me! Before hand, my friend Mike and I went to sushi at Tsunami! It was really quite good! I would highly recommend it! (The company couldn't have been better either!)

Well, that's about it! My life has been pretty uneventful the last little while! Now I'm sitting in the bathroom because it is the coolest place in the house and after I overheated myself in my car earlier, I really need to cool down. Ok, now that I've written a blog everyone had better start doing something to entertain me! Yeah, I mean you out there! Just kidding! I love you all! XOXOXO
